Social Media Content Calendar & Inspiration

With the recent Government announcement, we are finding ourselves heading into yet another lockdown. I’m sure this news won’t be gratefully received by any of us, but if lockdown #1 taught us anything, it’s that we can get through this and come out the other side. We will learn things about ourselves we didn’t realise, it may give us the time and space in order to grow, and it’s a great time to plan and prepare for the future, spark new inspirations and work towards what we want for 2021.

If your business is going to experience some down time during lockdown, how can you use the time wisely? It’s important to keep your online content going over this quiet period, not only to remain in the forefront of your customer’s minds, but to also keep your inspiration and motivation going. After all, us small business owners all started for a reason, and we need to keep the focus and remember why we do what we do!

Tips on how to get the best out of your Business during lockdown #2

Schedule in time across the week to connect with fellow businesses. Don't just like their posts, comment and interact with others which will boost their exposure and encourage others to do the same to you.

Don't wait for the follows - go and find them! Think about your target audience for e.g., who are they? On Instagram, what hashtags are they likely to follow? Use the hashtag facility to search for posts and follow/interact with your potential customers. They're there for the taking! Set yourself a target of how many you want to find per week.

Avoid Quick Fixes

Avoid follow for follow - I see so many business pages doing this. It's hard not to get fixated with how many follows you have versus how many follows your competition have. Ever received one of those dodgy messages where you can pay for extra follows? What is the point in having 1000's of follows if not 1 of them is actually interested in what you do (or if they're even real?!)

Trade Swap

People will be more careful with their money now than ever! Collaborate with another business, can you do a service or product swap?

If you have a product based business - search for some brand reps. Bloggers on Instagram with a high following who would love to help promote your products for free. Send them some freebies in exchange for a few posts on their social media & reviews, of which you can use their photos on yours too.

Join relevant Facebook groups – if you only use Facebook, search for some new networking groups to join. This can be local groups to you, small business, handmade, networking, anything that is relevant to what you do. Join in on networking threads, often where you can like and comment on each other’s posts to boost your engagement, or simply share one of your Facebook posts into the group.

Download our FREE Social Media Content & Inspiration Calendar to use as you wish throughout lockdown. You can follow as little or as much of it as you wish, and some of the posts may or may not be relevant to your industry. It starts from official lockdown date of Thursday 5th November for until 5th December, when fingers crossed, we will be able to return to some form of normality.
